Blue Jays are acquiring right-hander Jose Soriano

The Angels traded right-handed pitcher Jose Soriano to the Blue Jays on Monday morning ahead of the MLB trade deadline, The Post’s Jon Heyman confirmed.
Los Angeles received Double-A shortstop Arjun Nimmala, Double-A outfielder Eddie Micheletti and Rookie Ball pitcher Angel Rivero.
It is a surprising move from the Blue Jays, who appeared to be going into seller’s mode after trading away starter Kevin Gausman to the Cubs on Sunday.

The Cubs added veteran right-hander Kevin Gausman in a deal with the Blue Jays on Sunday that they pulled off less than 24 hours before Monday’s MLB trade deadline, The Post’s Jon Heyman confirmed.
It is the second trade that the Cubs and Blue Jays have pulled off ahead of the deadline and, as of Sunday night, had still not been finalized, The Athletic reported.
The Blue Jays are believed to be getting a pair of prospects in outfielder Brett Bateman and infielder Ty Southisene as part of the trade, according to the outlet.

At long last, the Yankees are adding a bat.
The club traded for Luis García Jr. from the Nationals, The Post confirmed Sunday, acquiring the left-handed slugger in an attempt to provide some much-needed help for the struggling lineup.
García cost the Yankees four pitchers in Yovanny Cruz, Jake Bird and prospects Ben Grable (another reliever) and Jack Cebert.

The Amazins are trading right-handed reliever Huascar Brazoban to the White Sox, The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reported early Monday morning.
Chicago is sending Double-A right-handed pitcher Gabe Davis and Triple–A righty Zach Franklin back to the Mets.
