Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich’s wife dies after cancer battle
The wife of Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich has died following a battle with cancer, the organization announced Thursday.
The franchise shared the heartbreaking news of Cristina Ulbrich’s death in a statement, remembering her as a devoted member of the Falcons family.
“The Atlanta Falcons are heartbroken by the passing of Cristina Ulbrich, beloved wife of defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, after her courageous battle with cancer,” the team said.
The Falcons described Cristina as a “devoted wife, mother, and friend” whose strength and resilience affected everyone around her.
“She was a constant source of love and support to Jeff, their family, and the broader Falcons community,” the statement continued.
Jeff and Cristina shared three children: a daughter, Samantha, and two sons, Jax and Jace, according to his official bio on the Falcons’ website.
The organization offered its condolences to Ulbrich, his children and the rest of Cristina’s loved ones while asking that the family be given privacy.
“During this incredibly difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with the Ulbrich family,” the team said. “We ask that their privacy be respected as they grieve this profound loss.”
Ulbrich was named the Falcons’ defensive coordinator under new head coach Kevin Stefanski in January 2025 after spending four seasons with the Jets, including a stint as New York’s interim head coach during the final 12 games of the 2024 season.
The former NFL linebacker previously spent six seasons on the Falcons’ coaching staff from 2015-20 after playing his entire 10-year career with the 49ers.
