Zohran Mamdani defends controversial NYC immigrant map, says Little Italy will soon be recognized by admin
Mayor Mamdani defended his controversial map of immigrant enclaves across the Big Apple, saying more communities would be added after notably omitting the famed Little Italy as well as Jewish and Irish communities.

“It’s clearly not an exhaustive list of the more than 200 ethnic enclaves,” Hizzoner said at an unrelated press conference on Friday.
“We’re going to be making additional changes in the future to reflect that… including Little Italy.”
The controversial map resurfaced earlier this week on social media, sparking backlash for the young administration.
