“Thank you to FIFA for doing what was right, and reversing a great injustice!” Trump wrote Sunday on Truth Social.

Balogun, 25, was initially suspended for Monday’s match after picking up a controversial red card during the USMNT’s Round of 32 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The red card was given after a VAR review.

No foul was called in real time but Balogun was assessed a red card in the 64th minute after VAR review, which ejected him from the rest of the game and resulted in a one-game suspension.

But the FIFA Disciplinary Committee can suspend the implementation of a suspension, which they chose to do with Balogun.

The news electrified the country ahead of Monday’s match in Seattle.

Former USMNT star and current Fox Sports analyst Landon Donovan took to X to react to the news.

“Flo is back LFG!!!!,” he wrote, along with five American flag emojis.

Donovan’s former teammate Clint Dempsey reacted simply with an eyeballs emoji.

Balogun has scored three goals in this World Cup, including the opening tally against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

His absence, though not necessarily insurmountable, would’ve greatly impacted the USMNT’s chances against Belgium, who knocked them out in this same round in 2014.
