The newlyweds appeared to have nudged Sandler to take on the job after he and Kelce shared the screen in the 2025 film “Happy Gilmore 2.”

Kelce, 36, made a cameo in the Kyle Newacheck-directed movie, as he wore only an apron while being smothered in honey by Bad Bunny, who portrayed Oscar, a restaurant employee working under Sandler’s character, Happy Gilmore.
In the scene, Sandler’s character instructed Oscar to go to his “happy place,” which led the latter to envision himself approaching Kelce’s character with honey in preparation to be eaten by a bear.
Sandler, 59, was front and center to celebrate Swift and Kelce’s wedding, alongside the hitmaker’s brother and man of honor, Austin, and Kelce’s brother and best man, Jason.
The “Love Story” singer, 36, and the NFL star also tied the knot in front of 1,000 people, including Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid.
The newlyweds walked down the aisle both wearing Christian Dior Haute Couture and custom-made Christian Louboutin shoes.
Insiders previously told Page Six that the two were planning to host their wedding at Madison Square Garden over the July 3rd weekend after previously eyeing Rhode Island.
However, hours before their rehearsal dinner on July 3, multiple sources confirmed to Page Six that the Hollywood couple were “already legally married.”
Swift and Kelce broke the internet when they announced their engagement in August 2025 via social media after two years of dating.
The Kansas City Chiefs player popped the question in a flower-filled garden at his Kansas City home after they filmed an episode of his “New Heights” podcast.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” the couple’s joint Instagram post read, which featured pictures from the romantic engagement.
Swift then gushed about the engagement and her then-fiancé two months later when she appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

“He’s just my favorite person I’ve ever met — no offense to everyone else,” the “Life of a Showgirl” singer said. “But the fact that this is the person that I get to hang out with every day forever is just, like, that’s the whole thing.”
That same month, Swift shared on SiriusXM’s “The Morning Mash Up” that while it’s “hard to pinpoint” exactly when she fell in love with Kelce, the moment happened pretty early on.
“He’s one of those people where as soon as you meet him, you know he’s the best,” the pop star explained. “There’s no one else on the planet that’s ever been even remotely similar to him.”
Kelce echoed those sentiments in his August 2025 cover story interview for GQ, telling the outlet that once they fell in love, their romance “just took the f–k off.”
“We are two fun-loving people who have the morals to appreciate everyone for who they are,” he explained. “We share all those values … Whenever I’m with her, it feels like we’re just regular people.”
The tight end broke his silence on the proposal during a September episode of his “New Heights” podcast.
“It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with,” the athlete told listeners while expressing gratitude for the well-wishes he’s received.
