The 10-man United States delivers an excellent performance from start to finish, defeating Bosnia-Herzegovina 2-0 at San Francisco Bay Area Stadium.
Balogun, who had an earlier goal disallowed, opened the scoring in the first half with a composed finish for the co-hosts, who were clearly the better team.
Despite playing the final half-hour a man down after Balogun’s red card, Bosnia-Herzegovina couldn’t find the net.
Pulisic saw an effort ruled out for offside before Tillman’s free-kick in the 82nd minute sealed the win.
The Stars and Stripes now advance to face Belgium in the round of 16, marking only their second World Cup knockout-stage victory ever.
The final xG stands at 0.92 to 0.25 in favor of the USA.
