NYPD officer shot in Brooklyn during confrontation with suspect
A police officer was shot in the leg in Brooklyn on Friday morning while responding to a barricaded gunman who is now dead, according to police and sources.

NYPD officers responded to a report of shots fired in Bedford-Stuyvesant and kicked in the front door of a home at 190 Kosciusko Street around 5:45 a.m., cops and sources said.
More gunshots erupted as people ran out of the house and the man barricaded himself inside the residence.
One officer suffered a gunshot wound to the left leg, police said.
The officer was rushed to a local hospital where he is in stable condition.
The suspect, who has not been identified, is dead, sources said. It was not immediately clear how he was killed.

Police confirmed that the situation has been contained and is no longer active.
